THE BULL'S EYE IS "HIT-ABLE" -- ZIG ZIGLAR

0

This evening I was reading a book written by one of my favorite authors, Zig Ziglar. I was inspired by the few lines I read:

“Somebody once said that the major difference between a big shot and a little shot is that the big shot was the little shot who kept on shooting...”

In this region, “Try and try until you succeed” is a motto I always hear --- yet only a few really follow it big time.

The truth for most of us is that no matter what our targets might be, we seldom hit it on the first try. Unless the target is too easy for us -- this does not give us satisfaction because easy targets often result into insignificant rewards.

In bow shooting, archers will test the wind by using the first shot to measure the strength and direction of the wind. This enables them to zero-in on the target with their following shots. The bottom-line --- archers are able to hit the bull’s eye by learning from their mistakes. A good advice for all of us!

I say don’t count on beginner’s luck. Success in business, politics, science and in other things seldom come on the first effort.

Walt Disney went bankrupt several times before he went big-time.

We all know Thomas Edison tried thousands of times before the light bulb --- lit.

Tiger Woods started swinging at the age of 8 and by now, he probably knows thousands of ways how not to hit the ball.

David, before he defeated Goliath, already killed a bear and a lion while he was protecting his father’s sheep. A special training in which God allowed him to go thru before hitting the big bull’s eye “Goliath”.

Failing does not make you a “failure”. Failure is not a person but a “temporary” event we all go thru. Whatever your targets may be, there is a big chance for you not to hit the bull’s eye the first time.

But with persistence and right perspective, keep on shooting. It is just a matter of time before you hit that bull’s eye.
