I asked him... "what do you like to write about?"
He was thinking... "I dunno dad, maybe about our travels and adventures?"
He wasn't sure yet what to write about so I gave him an assignment. I asked "How about write the 10 Things That You Have Learned in Monopoly?" (A topic I, myself, was supposed to write about) And he excitedly accepted.
The next day my wife & I left for Panglao Bohol to celebrate our 10th year anniversary. Late that night Trey texted me: "hey dad, when are you going to read what I wrote?"
I replied: "when can you post it?"
He said: "I already did!"
So I grabbed my MacBook and checked it out. I was so excited to read it.
The 10 things I learned from Monopoly.......
( These things are very helpful to me because when i grow up i want to be a real-estate owner.)
1. I learned how to use properties..
2. I learned how to trade properties. (this is very important)
3. I also learned that you have to use your money wisely.
4. I learned that to make money you have to spend money. (or buy)
5. I also learned that once you get lots of money don't spend it all at once, because you will never know if you will have to pay for something.
6. If you earn lots of money like 5-million spend more than 50% for lots or houses and businesses.
7. In monopoly the goal is to become a success and make the other players Bankrupt, but in real life you just want to become successful and earn money to provide for your family.
8. Always choose a good location, choose places where people usually go.
or in real life choose a place where it's nice, where there is a road, maybe near a school, near a mall, or just a place where there are all kinds of useful stuff.
Like our village there are restaurants, barbers, grocery, parlor, drug store or mercury drug, and tons of other stuff and villages.
9. Always have a good affordable price.
10. Buy a property or something from someone who needs money fast if someone is about to be bankrupt or can't afford something buy their house. if they bought their house for 3M buy it for 2M or 2.5M, fix the house for 500,000 and sell it for 3.5M-5M.
( P.S. some of these I learned from monopoly and my dad. )
Thanks for reading. - Trey
